Regulations and Complaints
Since 1 January 2017, the Wkkgz (Quality, Complaints and Disputes in Healthcare Act) requires all healthcare providers in the Netherlands to join a recognized disputes committee. As a member of the NVPA, I am affiliated with the SCAG (Complaints and Disputes Committee for Complementary Healthcare) and subject to the disciplinary rules of the TCZ (Disciplinary Board for Complementary Care).
Most clients are satisfied, but if you are not, we encourage you to first discuss this with me directly. If we cannot resolve the matter, you can contact the NVPA. See the SCAG client brochure for more details.
Since 1 January 2019, the Enhanced Reporting Code for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse grants professionals the right to break confidentiality to report concerns. My practice follows a 5-step plan for suspected abuse.
As part of the Wkkgz, I maintain a VIM (Safe Incident Reporting) register to learn from unintended incidents that may have caused harm.
Under the Data Breach Notification Law (1 January 2016), serious data breaches must be reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority within 72 hours.
